Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro, lo último de Sony Ericsson en smartphones, fue presentado en el MWC 2011 de Barcelona y no se espera su lanzamiento antes de octubre en el Reino Unido, su retraso probablemente este relacionado con el terremoto de Japón. Con sus habituales formas en diseño, pensado para que la mensajería sea rápida y sencilla. Type & Send permite escribir y enviar todos tus mensajes y actualizaciones de estado directamente desde la pantalla de inicio, con solo deslizar el teclado inteligente cuando estas navegando por la bandeja de entrada aparece automáticamente la función de "escribir nuevo mensaje", deslizando hacia fuera cuando se esta en línea se activan las funciones de dirección y campo de búsqueda.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro és identico al Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, la principal diferencia es que el modelo Pro tiene teclado QWERTY deslizable. Viene con el sistema operativo Android 2.3 Gingerbread, pero para entonces ya estara disponible la versión 2.3.4 para los Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, Neo, Play y Pro. Con chipset Qualcomm MSM8255, procesador a 1 GHz. Pantalla de 3.7 pulgadas, con 480 x 854 pixels de resolución, multitáctil, capacitiva, resistente a arañazos y con "Sony's Mobile BRAVIA Engine".
Incluye una cámara de 8.1 megapixels, con sensor "Sony’s Exmor R for mobile CMOS sensor", flash LED, autofocus, digital zoon 16x, camara frontal para videconferencia, permite grabación de vídeo a 720p.
Para redes 2G GSM / GPRS / EDGE, y 3G UMTS / HSPA (HSDPA + HSUPA). Conectividad Bluetooth, USB, A-GPS, conector audio de 3.5 mm. SMS, EMS, MMS, mensajería instantánea, Email. Predicción de texto, reloj, temporizador, cronógrafo, despertador, tareas, guía telefónica, notas, modo vuelo, calendario, calculadora, visor de documentos.
